Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Pacers Drop First Atlantic East Game at Immaculata

Immaculata, Pa. - Marywood University's men's basketball team dropped their first conference game of the season with a 76-55 setback at Immaculata University Monday night.

The Pacers head into Wednesday's showdown with lead-leading Gwynedd Mercy University (13-5, 5-0) with a 12-6 overall record and 4-1 mark in the Atlantic East Conference. The loss also snapped a four-game win streak for Marywood.

Jeremy Ringland had 18 points and Jaden Rhoden, who was named to the Conference's weekly Honor Roll earlier today, added 14.  Mike Pierarski was clutch for the Mighty Macs (8-10, 3-3), going for a game-high 29 points thanks in part to 5-of-6 shooting from long range. Pierarski added a game-high 12 rebounds for the double-double.

Rhoden completed a double-double as well with a team-high 10 boards.

Immaculata held Thomas Swartz to five points and the Pacers to 21.7% shooting from long range.  The game was tied 30-30 at the break, but a strong second-half from the hosts, where they shot 53% (17 of 32) from the field, 60% (9 of 15) from three-point range and 100% (3 for 3) from the charity stripe resulted in 46 points.  Conversely, Marywood hit 33.3% (9 of 27) of their field goals and 23% (3 of 13) from long range in the frame.

Tip-off against the Griffins Wednesday in the Insalaco Arena is set for 8:00 pm.
