Macko, Sanchez Star in Senior Day Win; Pacers Extend Streak to 11 Games

Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University won its 11th consecutive field hockey game with a 7-0 shutout of Morrisville State on Sunday. With the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic East Conference playoffs secured, the Pacers host Immaculata University Wednesday for their regular season finale.

Coach Julie Trott acknowledged the 10 student-athletes from the Class of 2020: Betsy Macko, Kenzie Drew, Jenna Dickey, Lindsey Quinn, Sara Sterchak, Marisa Mongioi, Gwyneth Gleason, Sara Marshall, Lindsey Gladden, and Kerri Mountz.

Betsy Macko scored a career-high two goals and an assist. Angela Sanchez finished with a pair of goals.

Both Sanchez and Jenna Dickey added goals to set up a three-way tie for the team lead with 11 on the season.

Sami Abbinanti and Allie Rehnert scored their first career goals. Lauren Smith added an assist.

Kerri Mountz made two saves in three quarters of work, part of her 14th career shutout. Allie King made an appearance in net for one quarter.

Morrisville goalkeeper Morgan Dueber made 21 saves. Mary Klecha and Toni Baker each recorded two defensive saves.

The Pacers welcome the Mighty Macs on Wednesday at 4:00 pm. Marywood has received a bye in the Atlantic East tournament and will host the semifinal on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at a time to be announced.
