Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey Continues Roll, Blanks Immaculata

Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University's field hockey team extended its program-record win streak to 12 games as the Pacers dispatched of visiting Immaculata University 3-0 to conclude their regular season.  Marywood (14-3, 5-0 Atlantic East), the 8th ranked team in the region, will be idle for the first round of playoffs and host a semifinal Wednesday, November 6.

Sara Sterchak's early goal gave the Pacers a 1-0 lead 2:06 into Wednesday's game.  Sterchak finished a reverse pass from Lindsey Quinn off of Kenzie Drew's penalty corner. It was Sterchak's second goal of the season.

Just 29 seconds into the second half, Angela Sanchez provided some insurance, taking a Jenna Dickey cross from the right side and putting it in the cage from two yards for her team-best 12th of the year.

The Pacers closed the scoring just 2:59 later when Drew scored off a feed from Quinn for her fourth tally of the year.

Marywood had a 26-13 advantage in shots, including a 18-7 lead in shots on goal.  The Pacers also had an 11-5 edge in penalty corners.  Kerri Mountz made seven saves to collect her fourth solo, and fifth overall, shutout.
