Pacers Shut Down at Lycoming Quad

Williamsport, Pa. – The Marywood University volleyball team went winless at the Lycoming College Quad Match, dropping each of its three matches on Saturday. The Pacers lost in five sets to Nazareth College, and they fell to Rochester Institute of Technology and the host Warriors in three.

With their sixth straight loss, the Pacers slip to 8-13 on the season with Atlantic East Conference action beginning this week.

Nazareth 3, Marywood 2

Marywood led 2-1 before the Golden Flyers stormed back to take the last two sets. Nazareth topped the Pacers by scores of 25-21 17-25, 22-25, 26-24, 15-12.

Marywood tied the fourth set 24-24 on a Sam Compton kill to force extra points. Nazareth sent the match to a deciding fifth set with a Melissa Newcome kill and McKenzie Hart ace.

Peri Sheerin had 14 kills, three aces and three blocks for 18.5 points. She finished with a .182 attack percentage.

Nicole Cashman provided 11 kills and a .195 attack percentage. Compton finished with a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs, along with three aces.

Jordan Vossler contributed 24 digs. Sara Burgos tallied 38 assists and 14 dig with five aces.

Donna Bostjancic enjoyed a career-best 10 digs. Emily O'Brien stepped into the starting lineup with four block assists.

Nazareth's Danielle Synowski had team highs of 22 kills and 18 digs.

Marywood shot .157 to the Golden Flyers' .181 attack percentage. Nazareth had a 65-45 advantage in kills.

RIT 3, Marywood 0

The Pacers were unable to come back from first-set struggles, falling to the Tigers by scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-19.

Ashley King had a team-best six kills with a .105 attack percentage and an ace. Vossler provided 17 digs. Emily Haberman totaled 10 assists.

The Tigers' Katie Hobler had 12 kills and a .476 attack percentage.

Lycoming 3, Marywood 0

Marywood was no match for the Warriors' .385 attack percentage. The Warriors won by scores of 25-12, 25-17, 25-10.

Sheerin yielded six kills with a .294 attack percentage. King had five kills and a block. Burgos garnered 14 assists.

Marywood hosts Neumann University on Wednesday.
