Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University was unable to get the best of Neumann University in a 3-0 loss Wednesday to begin the Atlantic East Conference volleyball schedule. The Pacers shot .040 for the match to the Knights' .216 mark.
Marywood (8-14, 0-1 Atlantic East) fell by scores of 25-20, 25-9, 25-23.
The Knights dominated every facet of the match, thanks to two-time defending Player of the Year Melanie Malssed. The Neumann senior finished with 14 kills, 14 digs and a .440 attack percentage.
Ashley King had a team-high 6.5 points with five kills and a .176 attack percentage.
Jordan Vossler finished with 15 digs.
Sara Burgos had 17 assists.
Emily O'Brien took a starting role with four kills and two block assists.
Marywood is idle until an Atlantic East showdown at Immaculata University on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
