Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Slips to Mount Aloysius, 63-56

Harrisburg, Pa. - Jack DeGroot scored a team-high 15 points and was named to the All-Tournament team but it was not enough as Marywood University's men's basketball team fell to Mount Aloysius College 63-56 in the consolation game of the Penn State Harrisburg tournament.

The Pacers fell to 0-2 while the Mounties improved to 1-1 with the win behind a game-high 19 points from Julian Stover.

Three other Mount Aloysius players reached double figures in the victory.

Marywood held the Mounties to 30% shooting from the floor and a 2 of 10 effort from three point range in the first half, helping the Pacers to a four-point 26-22 lead at the break.

In the second half, Mount Aloysius connected on nearly 56% of their shots, going 10 of 18 from the floor, and hit 5 of 8 three's (62.5%) while limiting Marywood to 37.5% shooting from the floor and 33.3% (4 of 12) from three point range, for the comeback win.

Despite a slim 15-13 lead in turnovers forced, the Mounties converted those 15 Marywood turnovers into 23 points while Marywood could only manage eight points off turnovers.

Marywood will face Christopher Newport University Friday at the F&M Rotary Tip-Off Tournament, hosted by Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster.  Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm.
