Aungst Drops 25 Points to Hand Carleton First Win at Marywood

Pacers jump out to 23-point lead in first half

New Britain, Pa. - Head Coach Jennifer Carleton won her first game as Marywood University women's basketball head coach in a 64-46 victory over Delaware Valley University on Friday night. The Pacers rushed out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter and led by 23 at halftime. 

Aryah Aungst scored 25 points with eight rebounds to lead the Pacers. Aungst reached 25-plus points for the second time this season. She went 5 of 6 from long distance, and added three steals. 

Olivia Kosin secured 10 rebounds. Emily Theobald and Kilie Wyers each had nine points. 

Marywood had a 25-13 advantage at the end of the first quarter. The Pacers outscored the Aggies 20-4 in the second quarter to lead 45-17 at the break. 

Lauren Moretti had 12 points for Delaware Valley. Shayne Glenn and Emily Kutskel each produced 10 points. 

The Pacers shot 36.7 percent from the floor after making 61.1 percent of its attempts in the first quarter alone. Marywood shot 10 of 23 (43.5 percent) from beyond the arc. The Aggies were limited to 30.9 percent shooting and missed all 13 3-point attempts. 

Marywood(1-2) went on a 12-point run in just over two minutes to stretch its lead to 37-15 on an Aungst 3-pointer at the 6:46 mark of the second quarter. 

The Pacers continue the fourth of seven away games to start the season Wednesday when they travel to Lebanon Valley College.
