Pacers Unable to Overcome First Quarter, Fall to Flying Dutchmen

Annville, Pa. - Marywood University was unable to get past a large first-quarter deficit in a 62-42 loss to Lebanon Valley College Wednesday in non-conference women's basketball action. The Pacers fall to 1-3 on the season, while the Flying Dutchmen move to 2-3. 

Aryah Aungst led the Pacers with her fourth straight game in double figures. She finished with 19 points with seven rebounds. Aungst went 4 of 5 from beyond the arc and added four steals. 

Cait Reilly finished with six rebounds. Olivia Kosin had six points. 

Lebanon Valley had four of its six players reach double figures in scoring. Emily Mealey matched Aungst with 19 points, along with 14 rebounds. Morgan Bamberger and Jaime Youngkin posted 13 points. Daelyn Stabler added 12. 

Marywood shot 30.8 percent from the field and struggled at the free-throw line at a 36.4 percent clip. Lebanon Valley made 43.6 percent of its attempts. The Flying Dutchmen doubled the Pacers 36-18 in points in the paint. 

With a 5-4 lead, Lebanon Valley went on a 17-point run over a 10-minute span to lead 22-4 with 6:51 left in the first half. Marywood went on a 9-0 run of its own, cutting it to a two-possession game (26-20) on Olivia Kosin's layup from Marissa Fernandez-Tierney. 

The Pacers head back to Northeastern Pennsylvania to face off in the Cross County Challenge at King's College this weekend. The Pacers take on Wilkes University on Saturday at 4:00 pm before facing the host Monarchs Sunday at 3:00 pm.
