Pacers Race Past Colonels for Third Straight Cross County Challenge Win

Allison Bashore nets career high 18 points

Box Score Wilkes-Barre, Pa. - Marywood University won its third consecutive Cross County Challenge women's basketball victory, downing Wilkes University 65-58 on Saturday. The Pacers will take on host King's College Sunday for a shot at a share of the Cross County Challenge title for the third time in the tournament's four-year history. 

The Pacers (2-3) led by as many as 17 in the third quarter before the Colonels closed in to single digits in the late minutes. Marywood made half of its first-half attempts and shot 41.1 percent for the game. 

Allison Bashore produced a career-high 18 points for the Pacers. Bashore sunk 6 of 8 attempts from the field with five 3-pointers made.

Aryah Aungst and Marissa Fernandez Tierney each provided 10 points for hte Pacers. Aungst had five assists, and Fernandez Tierney reached double figures for the first time in her career. 

Olivia Kosin was a point shy of a double-double with 10 boards and nine points. Emily Theobald netted a team-best plus-minus rating of 15 points. 

Wilkes (3-2) had a 17-point performance from Gabby Smicherko. 

Marywood kept Wilkes to 35.1 percent shooting. The Pacers out-rebounded the Colonels by a 41-38 clip.
