Men's Basketball Drops Opener to Penn State Harrisburg

Harrisburg, Pa. - Marywood University's men's basketball team placed three players in double figures but the Pacers dropped their 2019-20 season opener to host Penn State Harrisburg, 73-62.  Adam Boussatta led the Pacers with 15 points in the loss.

Jack DeGroot (13) and Donovan Catchings (12) also reached double digits for the Pacers. DeGroot had the game's lone double-double after grabbing 12 rebounds as well.

Brandon Coleman had a game-high 23 points to lead four players in double figures for the host Lions. 

Marywood was held to 33.3% shooting from the floor and 30% from three point range in the loss. PSU-Harrisburg hit nearly 42% of their shots but were just 2 of 21 from beyond the arc.

The Lions held a slim 32-31 lead at the break but outscored Marywood by 10 in the second half where Marywood was held to 8 of 28 shooting from the floor and 3 of 12 from long range.  Penn State Harrisburg turned the ball over just six times in the game, while forcing 16 Marywood turnovers. giving the Lions a 23-6 lead in points off turnovers.  The hosts also outscored the Pacers 40-24 in the paint.

Marywood will play in the consolation game of the Penn State Harrisburg tournament tomorrow at 4:00 pm against Mount Aloysius College, who fell to Widener University in the nightcap, 70-57.
