Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Pacers Fall on Road at Neumann

Aston, Pa. - Marywood University's men's basketball fell to conference rival Neumann University 84-66 Wednesday evening in Aston. It marks the first time since November 18 and 20 that the Pacers dropped back-to-back games.

Marywood (14-8, 6-3 Atlantic East) slides into second place in league standings with three regular season games remaining. They are now a game behind Gwynedd Mercy, whom they close the regular season with February 16.

Neumann, meanwhile, keeps their hopes alive for the sixth and final playoff spot.  They improved to 11-12 overall and 2-8 in the league but are now just a game behind Cabrini for that final playoff slot.

The Knights dominated inside Wednesday evening, out-scoring Marywood 50-20 in the paint.  They also converted 18 Marywood turnovers into 19 points while committing just nine miscues themselves.

Marywood was led by Jeremy Ringland's team-high 18 while Jaden Rhoden had 14 and Thomas Swartz added 13.  The Knights' had a game-high 21 from Waheem Lowman and 20 from Jordan Collins in the win.

Despite Marywood hitting 55% (11 of 18) of their three-point attempts, Neumann was hot from the floor all night, connecting on 50% (33 of 66) of their field goal attempts. Both teams went 11 of 18 from the line. Neumann held a slight 36-33 advantage on the glass.

Marywood will be back in action Saturday at 3:00 pm when they host Marymount (Va.) in a pivotal Atlantic East Conference game.  Saturday's contest will also serve as Senior Day for the men's basketball program where Swartz will be recognized for his contributions to the team and University over the last four years.
