Ringland, Swartz Carry Pacers Past Marymount on Senior Day

Scranton, Pa. - Fourth-year players Jeremy Ringland and Thomas Swartz carried Marywood to a 63-51 win over Marymount University Saturday afternoon.  The veteran duo combined for 36 points with Ringland finishing with a game-high 20 in the Pacers' Atlantic East Conference win.  

Swartz was honored as the Pacers' lone senior (Ringland is in graduate school) and scored 16 points after hitting four three pointers.  Marywood now tied a program record for wins in a season as they move to 15-8 overall. Equally as important, they are 7-3 in the Atlantic East and move to within a half of game of Gwynedd Mercy, who fell 86-83 on the road at Wesley Saturday.  The Griffins have played one more game that Marywood and are 8-3 in the league.

Marymount fell to 12-11 (5-5 AEC) with the loss.

Tied 18-18 in the early going, Marywood hit five straight three pointers in the final five minutes of the opening half to into the break up 35-26.  The Pacers scored nearly as many points in the final four minutes as they did over the opening 16 of the half.

After the break, Marywood opened with a jumper to go up double-digits, and hovered around a 10-point lead the rest of the way.  The Pacers hit over 47% of their shots from the floor while limiting the Saints to 34.5% shooting, including a 31% clip in the second half.  

Ringland added thunderous back-to-back dunks with under a minute to play, both assisted by Donovan Catchings and the first an alley-oop, 

Jaden Rhoden had a game-high 10 rebounds for the Pacers in the win.

The Pacers host Immaculata University Wednesday evening at 8:00 pm.
