Scranton Tops Women's Lacrosse in Electric City Showdown

Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University fell to crosstown University of Scranton 15-3 in non-conference women's lacrosse action on Wednesday. The Pacers fall to 3-3 on the season, while the Royals improve to 6-1.

Gina Babcock, Kayla McCabe and Zoe Simeone all scored a goal for the Pacers.

Shannon Warburton led the Royals with four goals. Raegan Dunn and Jill Henson matched her with four points on two goals and two assists.

Mary Leahy made 18 saves in goal, stopping 54.5 percent of shots on goal. Her counterparts Lauren Devlin and Erin Putnam registered three and five saves, respectively.

Simeone cut the deficit to 2-1 near the five-minute mark before the Royals tallied eight consecutive goals.

Marywood heads to Alvernia University on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
