Pacers Unable to Overcome Early Struggles in Loss to Hornets

Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University fell to Shenandoah University 20-12 in non-conference women's lacrosse Saturday. The Pacers were unable to come back from an early 7-1 deficit in the first 12 minutes. 

Gwyneth Gleason led the Pacers with seven goals, five ground balls, three caused turnovers, and three draw controls. She went 3 of 5 on free-position shots. 

Gina Babcock and Zoe Simeone each finished with a pair of goals. Melanie Wittick and Molly Yelencsics had five and four draw controls, respectively. 

Defensively, Sami Stein provided three caused turnovers and three ground balls.

Shenandoah received six goals from Kaitlyn Morris. Nikki Zerna provided four goals and two assists for six points. Gionna Maria made 10 saves. 

Marywood is off for Spring Break and return home to face Keystone College on Monday, March 18.
