Women's Lacrosse Rolls to Fifth Straight Win on Senior Day

Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University posted its fifth consecutive victory, beating Wesley College 21-5 Saturday in Atlantic East Conference women's lacrosse action. The Pacers bid adieu to Mary Leahy, Kylie Winton and Faith Grieshaber on its Senior Day.
 
Junior midfielder Gina Babcock reached the 100 Points Club with two goals and two assists. She becomes the 13th in program history to reach the feat. Babcock has 71 goals, 30 assists for 101 points in her three-year career.
 
Fellow junior midfielder Gwyneth Gleason finished with five points on four goals and an assist. She also contributed five draw controls, four ground balls and a caused turnover.
 
Junior attack Zoe Simeone matched her five points with two goals and three assists. Simeone also provided four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
 
The Pacers' seniors shined on their Senior Day. Leahy made nine saves, stopping 64.3 percent of shots faced for the win. Grieshaber matched a career high with a hat trick. Winton had a pair of ground balls.
 
Molly Yelencsics finished with three goals and an assist. Ashley King provided two goals and an assist.
 
Freshmen Kayla McCabe and Brielle Peters each contributed two goals with the latter picking up defensive with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Abbie Laime set a career high of one goal and one assist.
 
Marywood scored the first 10 goals of the game in the first nine minutes.
 
Wesley's Emily Caldarelli had eight ground balls and three caused turnovers.
 
The Pacers' Sunday matinee with Susquehanna University was cancelled. Marywood looks to continue its unblemished Atlantic East mark on Wednesday against Gwynedd Mercy University.
