Marywood Swept by Neumann in Atlantic East Doubleheader

Megan Gaeb hits her first career home run

Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University was swept by Neumann University Thursday in Atlantic East Conference softball action. The Pacers fell 3-1 in the first game and 12-0 (5 inn.) in the second game.

Megan Gaeb hit a solo home run in the seventh inning for the Pacers' only run of the series.

Kaitlyn Epler finished with a hit in both games, along with a stolen base. Kate O'Meara hit a double in the first game.

In the first game, Kirstie Alvarez allowed three earned runs and struck out four in a complete game effort.

Neumann received outstanding pitching performances from Jen Siemenski and Nicole Wisser. Wisser yielded just one hit in the second game.

The Knights' Jackie Schneider had a home run in the first game. Posting a double and triple, Kate Korte' went 2 for 4 with six RBIs.

Marywood (14-20, 2-6) finishes its Atlantic East Conference schedule on Tuesday, April 23 at Gwynedd Mercy University. The Pacers travel to Clarks Summit University the succeeding day.
