Women's Tennis Swings into Playoffs with 9-0 Victory

Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University women's tennis shut out Keystone College 9-0 Monday in its last regular season match. The Pacers improved to 7-11 as the Giants fall to 1-8 on the year.
 
The Pacers dominated the match in both singles and doubles. Devin Zombek, of Marywood, won both of her sets 6-0 against Cheetal Kalapnath. Sarah Pagnanelli and Lyndsey Medric each gave up just one point in both of their sets for the Pacers. Pagnanelli faced Sabrina Moyer (6-0, 6-1). Medric took on Hasheny Kalapnath (6-1, 6-0).
 
Marywood's Nicole Sinclair and Adriana Giammarino won their sets 6-1, 6-1. Danielle Ogonowski was given the Pacers' biggest challenge in her second set winning just 7-5, after winning her first set 6-1.
 
Ogonowski then teamed up with Sinclair to win the first set of doubles 8-1 against Mia Capolongo and Devinne Scott. The Marywood team of Medric and Brooke Panek won their set 8-0. Kayla Flyte and Pagnanelli defeated Hailey Curreri and Moyer 8-0 for the Pacers.
 
Marywood will compete in the Atlantic East Conference playoffs this Friday at the Legacy in Philadelphia. The Pacers are the third seed and will face the second seed Gwynedd Mercy University at 10 am.
