Volleyball Silenced at Cortland Invite

Jordan Vossler named to All-Tournament Team

Cortland, N.Y. – Marywood University left its opening volleyball tournament empty-handed with losses to Rochester, Western New England, Baldwin Wallace, and Oneonta. Baldwin Wallace beat out Stockton and St. Lawrence for the tournament championship.

In the first match, the Pacers fell to Rochester by scores of 25-21, 25-20, 26-24. The Pacers had set point in the third but the Yellow Jackets came back to finish with four straight points. Nicole Cashman led the Pacers with 10 kills. Sara Burgos supplied 27 assists, and Jordan Vossler tallied 32 digs. Sam Compton provided three aces.

In the second match, the Pacers slipped to Western New England by scores of 26-24, 25-17, 25-22. Marywood had six kills and two blocks from Compton. Vossler contributed 16 digs.

In the third match, Marywood fell to Baldwin Wallace by scores of 25-16, 25-9, 25-23. Cashman totaled nine kills and nine digs. Vossler had 19 digs, and Emily Haberman assisted nine points.

In the last match, Marywood were toppled by SUNY Oneonta by scores of 25-17, 25-9, 25-17. Compton and Cashman each had six kills.

Vossler was selected to the All-Tournament team.

The Pacers welcome Wilkes University on Thursday at 7 p.m.
