Langhorne, Pa. - Marywood University head coach
Bill Schutter earned his first career coaching victory with the Pacers' 3-0 victory over Cairn University Tuesday in women's volleyball. The Pacers won for the fifth straight time over their former Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent.
Marywood won by scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-21.
Peri Sheerin was lights-out for the Pacers with 11 kills and just two errors for a .391 attack percentage. She contributed seven digs and an ace.
Ashley King stepped up with six kills on just 10 attempts for a .500 attack percentage.
Sara Burgos totaled 23 assists and eight digs.
Defensively,
Jordan Vossler provided the Pacers with 22 digs.
Cairn (0-2) received 11 kills from Lyntia Gwess and 18 assists from Liz White.
Marywood (1-4) opens its home schedule Thursday when it hosts Wilkes University at 7:00 p.m. The Pacers beat the Colonels 3-0 last season for their first victory against the Luzerne County foes since 2014.
