Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University won its third game in four days in a 3-0 victory over Clarks Summit University Thursday in volleyball action. The Pacers defeated SUNY-Delphi and Ursinus, and Marywood evens its record 6-6 on the season.

The Pacers downed the Defenders by scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-12.

Peri Sheerin moved within three of 1,000 career kills. Sheerin provided eight kills with a .261 attack percentage, four digs and a pair of block assists.

Sam Compton finished with seven kills and 14 digs. Nicole Cashman had six kills.

Sara Burgos supplied 30 assists. Defensively, Jordan Vossler aided the Pacers with 26 digs.

Clarks Summit (3-8) was helped by Kara Brown's nine kills. Hannah Phelan had 14 digs.

Marywood was on the ropes in the second set, trailing 20-18 to its former Colonial States Athletic Conference rivals. Burgos allowed the Pacers to take a 21-20 lead on an ace. Clarks Summit killed the Pacers' rally with two straight points, and Sheerin responded with a kill to even the score at 22 apiece.

After a Sheerin ace and a Pacers' attack error, Compton regained a 24-23 advantage with a kill from Vossler. Compton finished the set with a kill from Burgos.

Marywood returns to the Insalaco Arena on Sunday for a tri-match with Manhattanville and Cedar Crest at 11 a.m.
