Men's Soccer's Winning Streak Halted by Lions

Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University's two-game winning streak came to an end in a 2-1 loss to Alrbight College Saturday in men's soccer. The Lions came back from a goal deficit in the first half to down the Pacers.

Carlos Perez gave the Pacers an early lead in the 17th minute. Perez followed through with a rebound after a Tom Cuffari penalty kick was saved by the Albright goalkeeper.

Albright turned around with a bright second half start. Wynton Britton retrieved a Yaniv Gonyoe pass that cut through two Marywood defenders in the 56th minute.

Eric Adamo gave the Lions the lead in the 68th minute. Adamo hit the far post on a 25-yard shot that bounced into goal.

Marywood outshot the Lions 22-16 and 11-18 on target. The Pacers had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Pacers had several chances late in the game. Cuffari flicked a backwards header that caught the hands of the Albright goalkeeper.

Mike Gallagher had a stellar game for the Pacers with six saves, including a leg stop on a close hard-hit attempt by Brendan Hanratty in the 54th minute.

Marywood (2-6) remains home and hosts Berkeley College (N.J.) on Wednesday.
