Quinn, Drew Spark Field Hockey to 4-1 Victory over Aggies

Drew matches career-mark for season assists in just one game

Doylestown, Pa. –  After being held scoreless for 21 minutes, Marywood University found its offensive production en route to a 4-1 victory over Delaware Valley Saturday in non-conference field hockey action. With the decision over the Aggies for the second time in as many seasons, Pacers won their second-straight game to even their record to 2-2.

Lindsey Quinn led the Pacers with two goals. Kenzie Drew provided a three assists, matching her career-high for a season in just a single game.

Quinn ended the scoreless draw in the second period. She received a pass from Drew at the post to the center of the box and unleashed a shot from 5 yards out.

Hanging on to a slim one-goal lead at halftime, the Pacers netted three goals in a 12-minute span in the third quarter. Ninety-three seconds into the second half, Sara Sterchak started the momentum when she scored off of a penalty corner chance from a Drew feed to the top of the arc.

Less than two minutes later, Quinn connected on a delightful backhand shot from 10 yards. It marks the fourth multi-goal performance of her career. With just four games in the books, Quinn is just one goal shy of matching a career-high for a season.

In the 44th minute, Angela Sanchez tacked on her second of the season via Drew's third helper. Drew passed to the front of the cage for an open chance for Sanchez.

The victory proved to be coach Julie Trott's second of her career.

Delaware Valley (1-2) spoiled the clean sheet chance with a goal on its only shot of the game. Megan Kleinfelter redirected a loss cross from Mackenzie Harper to the front of the cage.

Marywood outshot the Aggies 20-1 and held on to a 14-0 advantage in penalty corners.

Delaware Valley's Kita Konerth made nine saves.

Marywood looks to continue its winning streak Tuesday when it travels to Kean University. Last season, the Pacers logged their first victory over a ranked opponent with a 2-1 win over the then-No. 14 Cougars. Drew had both the game-tying and -winning goals that ended a streak of six consecutive losses to the Kean.
