King's Edges Marywood, 53-51

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. - Host King's College held off Marywood University for a 53-51 non-conference win Monday evening.  The Pacers suffered their fourth straight defeat and fall to 5-10 on the year.  The Monarchs improved to 7-6 with the victory.

Marywood was limited to 18% (6 of 33) shooting in the first half and managed just 14 points in the frame.  King's didn't shoot well either, going 7 of 28 for a 25% effort from the floor. The score differential was felt behind the arc, where King's hit 4 of 11 attempts from long range while Marywood went 0-10.

While able to connect more in the second half, the Pacers had to fight back after the hosts went up by as many as 12 with just over six minutes remaining.

Over the next 4:23, Marywood erased that deficit with a 15-3 run, tying the game at 50-50.  King's would make three of four from the charity stripe in the final minute of action while limiting Marywood without a field goal to seal the win.

The Pacers were led by Jake Curnow's 11 points.  King's had a game-high 14 from Tyler Faux.

Marywood returns to the hardwood Saturday when they take on Wesley College in Atlantic East action. Tip-off in Dover, Delaware is set for 3:00 pm.
