Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Falls to Cabrini by 10

Radnor, Pa. - Marywood University's men's basketball playoff hopes became tighter as the Pacers fell to host Cabrini University 94-84 in Atlantic East action Wednesday. The Pacers fell to 1-8 in the league (6-16 overall) with three games remaining.

Cabini (8-15, 4-6 AEC) avenged an earlier season loss on the road to Marywood with a win on their home court. Marywood's bench was outscored 23-13 while the Cavaliers had a 34-8 advantage in fast-break points.

Voshon Mack led at trio of Cavaliers in double figures with a game-high 25 points.  Marywood's Jack DeGroot had 23 points as the Pacers placed five in double digits.  Tom DeFelippo (19), Donovan Catchings (15), Adam Boussatta (13) and Joey Monaghan (10) also reached double figures for Marywood in the loss.

Trailing by three (45-42) at the break, Marywood kept the deficit in single digits until a jumper by DeGroot tied the game at 63-63 with 11:37 left. A lay-in by Boussatta would give the Pacers their second lead of the game (65-63), but a quick 9-0 run by the Cavaliers would give the hosts the lead for good.

Down by as many as 13 (85-72) with less than five minutes to play, Marywood rallied to get back to within five (85-80) after a pair of freebies from Boussatta with 2:13 left.

After missing several attempts from the charity stripe to seal the game, Cabrini held Marywood without a field goal and finally went 4-for-4 from the line in the final minute to seal the win.

The Pacers face Wesley College Saturday at 3:00 pm in what will be Marywood's Senior Day.  Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm in the Insalaco Arena.
