Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Knights Double Up Men's Lacrosse, 16-8

Scranton, Pa. - In the second-ever meeting between the two schools, visiting Arcadia University (2-0) doubled up Marywood 18-6 in non-conference men's lacrosse action Wednesday evening. The Pacers fell to 1-1 with the loss.

Arcadia nearly doubled up the Pacers last year, coming away with a 17-9 victory in 2019.

Tied 1-1 after Marywood's Jeff Johnsen scored with 1:39 left in the first quarter, the Knights held Marywood off the board for nearly 15 minutes, building a 9-1 lead along the way, before Marywood's Kieran Scanlan made it 9-2 with just under two minutes left in the half.

The second half would see two low scoring quarters, with Arcadia edging Marywood 4-2 in the third before the Pacers took the fourth, 4-3.  The Knights' largest lead of the game was 10, a 13-3 advantage with 2:18 to go in the third.

Marywood was out-shot 57-48, with the visitors placing 36 shots on goal to Marywood's 27.  Arcadia's Timmy Fyock made a game-high 28 saves in net to limit the Marywood offense.  Connor Reed made 11 stops for the Pacers.

Ground balls were even at 39-39, and Marywood won 17 faceoffs to 10 for Arcadia.  Marywood went 0-for-4 in extra man opportunities though.

Johnsen led Marywood with three goals while Eric Morin and Scanlon each had two.  Dalton Metzger added Marywood's other goal and had an assist.  Brian Albertsen had four goals for Arcadia while Tanner Pajakinas and Clo Muscara each had three.

Marywood hosts their third consecutive home game to open the season when they welcome Maritime College to Scranton Saturday at 12:00 pm.
