Women's Tennis Downs Wentworth, 8-1

Orlando, Fla. - Marywood University's women's tennis team improved to 4-2 on the year with a 8-1 win over Wentworth Institute of Technology Wednesday afternoon.  The match was tighter than the final score would indicate with three singles matches going to a superset tiebreaker.

The Pacers would take a 2-1 lead after doubles action. Danielle Ogonowski and Allison Bashore would earn a tough fought 8-5 win at #1 doubles and Deena Haroun Mahdavi and Brooke Panek would win 8-0 at #3 doubles.

In singles action, the 1-3 singles matches would all go to a third set super-tiebreaker.  Ogonowski defeated Ali Sollecito 3-6, 7-6 (10-8), 1-0 (10-4) at the top singles flight. At #2 singles, Abigail Doud came out on top for Marywood with a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-4) win. At three singles, Bashore defeated Morgan Collins 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-2).

The Pacers would get 6-0, 6-0 victories from Lyndsey Medric and Kayla Flight at five and six singles, respectively, to earn the 8-1 win.
