Second Half Eagles Surge Stalls Pacers

Patchogue, N.Y. –  St. Joseph's College of Long Island broke out of a defensive-minded one-goal tie to down Marywood University 8-3 in men's lacrosse. The Eagles outscored the Pacers 5-1 over the last 18 minutes to secure the victory.

Jeff Johnsen finished with two goals and two ground balls. Erin Morin had a pair of assists with four ground balls.

Ryan Matthews and Patrick Dingwell provided five ground balls apiece. Eric Morin picked up four ground balls.

St. Joseph's Matt Trautman secured a hat trick. Declan Canevari won 11 of 15 faceoff chances. Andrew Brust made 10 saves for the win.

Marywood's Connor Reed made nine saves with just one goal allowed in a no-decision. Matt Leen made five saves.

The Eagles outshot Marywood 42-30. The Pacers edged the Eagles 31-30 in ground balls. Marywood was unable to capitalize on three man-up chances.

Marywood heads to Utica College Wednesday at 1:00 pm.
