Marywood Comeback Falls Short in Misericordia Tri Sweep

Dallas, Pa. — Marywood University volleyball came back from a two-set disadvantage to force a deciding fifth before ultimately falling to Keuka College Saturday in the Misericordia Tri-Match. The Pacers lost in three sets to Misericordia in the first match 

Misericordia 3, Marywood 0

The Pacers fell to the Cougars by scores of 25-21, 25-19, 25-14 to open the day. 

Marywood had four players — Shannon Corr, Emily O'Brien, Rebecca Klemovitch, Mikayla Meek — with match-high five kills. Sara Burgos finished with 18 assists. 

Defensively, Donna Bostjancis provided 15 digs. 

Faith Merritt led the Cougars with 12 kills, and Alexa Monro had 13 digs. 

Keuka 3, Marywood 2

Keuka averted a Marywood comeback by defeating the Pacers by scores of 25-22, 25-20, 16-25, 18-25., 15-8. 

Rebecca Klemovitch tallied 22 kills for the team's highest total of teh season. Klemovitch had a .447 attack percentage and added two total blocks. 

Likewise, Burgos yielded a season-best 48 assists. She added 13 digs for a double-double. 

On the defensive side, Donna Bostjancic garnered 14 digs. Annie Heyen and Libby Smith each finished with a dozen digs. 

In addition to her 12 digs, Libby Smith had a season-best day with seven of the team's 15 aces.

Marywood had a .188 attack percentage to Keuka's .179. Both teams finished with 72 digs. Marywood posted a 15-10 advantage in aces. 

The Pacers resume Atlantic East play on Wednesday when they travel to Immaculata University.
