Three Quick Goals Sink Pacers; Marywood, Neumann to Rematch in First Round

Aston, Pa. — A burst of three goals in eight minutes sank Marywood University in a 3-0 loss to Neumann University Wednesday in the Atlantic East Conference men's soccer regular season finale. The Pacers will return to Aston, Pa. on Saturday to face the third-seeded Knights in the Atlantic East first round.
 
Marywood (2-10-2, 1-4-1 Atlantic East) finishes as the sixth seed in the conference.
 
Neumann broke the tie in the 28th minute. Jon Yinger added his third of the season on an Edwin Guerrero-assisted score. The Knights came around again 73 seconds with a goal from Sam Clavijo, assisted by Eddie Proud.
 
Corey Madigan capped the Knights' scoring in the 36th minute.
 
Neumann led the Pacers 9-6 in shots with a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal. The Knights had a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.
 
Alex Russo made four saves for the Pacers. Seth Walker made four stops to earn the clean sheet.
 
Kickoff for Saturday's playoff game is to be determined.
