Radnor, Pa. — Marywood University began the Atlantic East Conference field hockey slate with a 5-2 loss to Cabrini University on Wednesday. The Cavaliers broke a halftime tie with three straight goals.
Mackenzie Hoats finished with a pair of goals for the Pacers.

Cabrini out-shot the Pacers by a 14-4 margin. The Cavaliers doubled Marywood (8-4) in shots on goal and had a 7-3 advantage in penalty corners.
Hoats gave the Pacers the lead in the 19th minute. Cabrini's Kaitlyn Martin responded when she put in a rebound 38 seconds later to tie the game at one apiece.
In the second half, Dailey Ewing supplied Cabrini with a lead in the 39th minute. Allison Martin scored back-to-back goals to extend the Cavaliers lead to 4-1 in the 44th and 46th minutes.
Rachel Yohn had three saves for Marywood. Kaitlyn Martin had a defensive save for Cabrini.
Marywood looks to end its two-game slide Saturday against Centenary University on Senior Day.
