Field Hockey Ends Two-Game Skid, Blanks Centenary 7-0

Scranton, Pa. - Allie Rehnert and Cydney Lahr scored two goals apiece as Marywood snapped a small two-game skid with a 7-0 win over visiting Centenary University Saturday evening in field hockey action.

The Pacers (7-5) also got goals from Lauren Youngken, Sami Abbinanti and Belle Coleman in the win. Six of Marywood's seven goals were unassisted on the night as the Pacers outshot the Cyclones 47-0.  Marywood placed 39 of those shots on frame.

Rehnert started the scoring for the hosts just :50 seconds into the game as she followed her own saved shot to put Marywood up 1-0.  The score would remain 1-0 until early in the second quarter when the Pacers would score back-to-back goals within 46 seconds of each other.

Lahr scored her first goal of the game at the 17:09 mark and Rehnert added her second at the 17:55 mark.

Marywood tacked on two more goals before the end of the half, as Lauren Youngken tapped one in from the right side in the 26th minute and Abbinanti tapped one in from the left just 13 seconds before the end of the half.

Lahr put home her second of the game 2:04 into the third quarter, and Coleman scored off a feed from Amanda Leeland in the 44th minute. Rachel Yohn picked up the win in goal, playing all 60 minutes without being forced to make a save. Marywood had 23 penalty corners to none for the visitors.

Jenyfer Pereira made 32 stops for the Cyclones, who fell to 2-8 with the loss. 

Marywood is back in Atlantic East action Tuesday night when they travel to Gwynedd Mercy for a 6:00 pm matchup.
