Rocket League Pounds Ottawa in Regular Season Finale

Pacers to likely secure No. 3 seed in NECC Navigators Yellow Division

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University esports secured the No. 3 seed in the Rocket League playoffs with a 3-0 victory over University of Ottawa (Academy A) on Wednesday. The Pacers finish the NECC Navigators Yellow regular season with a 7-1 record. 

Marywood matched New England College and Arcadia University with 7-1 records. The Pilgrims and Knights take the top two spots, respectively, in the eight-team tournament. Marywood will likely face Springfield College in the first round. 

The Pacers downed Ottawa 7-1 in the first match. James March took the bulk of the scoring with five goals. Kyle Jenkins added a pair of goals and assists.

Marywood enjoyed its highest-scoring match of the season with an 11-0 shutout of the Gee-Gees. Marsh provided five goals and two assists for a 827 points. Jenkins and Jake Lutsky each had hat tricks. Jenkins added three assists, and Lutsky provided two helpers. Marywood held Ottawa without a shot on goal. 

In the third match, Marywood toppled the Gee-Gees by a 7-1 score. Lutsky scored four goals and an assist to total a game-high 711 points. Marsh added a goal, two assists and two saves. Austin Gagnon subbed in to tally two goals and two assists for 424 points.
