Marywood Downs Delhi for Second-Straight Win

Pacers outscore Broncos 22-4 in second quarter

Delhi, N.Y. — Marywood University had three players in double figures to post its second straight women's basketball victory. The Pacers downed SUNY Delhi 72-37 in the first of two meetings this season. 

Faith Kendricks led the Pacers with 15 points and eight rebounds off of the bench. Jade Rolon tallied 14 points and was just a rebound short of a double-double. Savannah Purdy finished with 10 points and eight boards. 

Fresh off her school record-breaking performance for single-game blocks, Stephanie Klemick sent back four Bronco attempts. She was just a point and a rebound short of a double-double with nine apiece. 

Kilie Wyers provided seven assists, and Bethany Maby matched a team-high with nine rebounds. 

Marywood (2-2) outrebounded the Broncos by a 61-41 margin. 

Delhi was led by Angelica Lazo's 14 points. 

The Broncos got off to an early start when Jennifer Roche hit a 3-pointer to go ahead 5-0 in the first 2:35. Marywood responded with a 12-2 run. Jade Rolon put the Pacers ahead for the first time (8-7) with a jumper in the paint at the 5:54 mark of the first quarter. 

The Pacers went on a 17-0 run to stretch its lead to 21 with less than four minutes remaining in the second half. Marywood outscored Delhi 22-4 in the second half. 

Marywood will head to the Long Center at the University of Scranton for the Cross County Challenge. The Pacers will take on Wilkes University on Saturday and King's College on Sunday. Both games tip off at 1 p.m.
