Pacers Topple Lions Behind Wyers' 17 Points

Stephanie Klemick added six blocks to her Division III-leading total

Scranton, Pa. -- Marywood University women's basketball won for the fourth time in five games with a 76-55 decision over Penn State Hazleton on Monday night. The Pacers put five players in double figures. 

Marywood broke the game open by holding the Lions to without a field goal for the last seven minutes of the first half. The Pacers outscored the Lions 16-2 during the stretch to open up to a 21-point lead at halftime. 

Kilie Wyers led the Pacers with 17 points and seven boards. Wyers shot 5 of 7 from the field, and she connected on three 3-pointers. 

Jade Rolon was just an assist shy of a double-double with a 15-point effort. Her nine assists tie for the second-most in program history. 

Both Savannah Purdy and Faith Kendricks finished with a dozen points. Stephanie Klemick added to her Division III-leading blocks total with six to complement her 10 points. 

Bethany Maby had a team-best eight rebounds, in addition to eight points. 

Marywood (4-3) shot 56.67 percent from the field in the first half and finished with a 43.8 percent mark for the game. The Pacers used their tempo to their advantage by outscoring the Lions 18-6 in fast-break points. 

Azaria Johnson led Penn State Hazleton with 20 points. Cassandra Rodriguez had 11 points.

Marywood is idle until Thursday, Dec. 7 when it will take on SUNY Delhi.
