McCabe Powers for Eight Goals to Lead Pacers over Macs

Immaculata, Pa. - Kayla McCabe scored eight times to lead Marywood University to a 19-8 victory over Immaculata University Wednesday in Atlantic East Conference women's lacrosse action. The Pacers went on a 7-1 second half run to capture its second victory of the season. 

McCabe was one goal shy of matching a school record with eight goals and an assist for nine points.  

Emma Solomon also scored a career-high with four goals and an assist for five points. Solomon added three ground balls and two caused turnovers. 

Brielle Peters tallied two goals and an assist, adding five draw controls. Abbie Laime provided a goal and an assist. 

On the defensive end, Melanie Wittick corralled 13 draw controls. Natalie Walker had three ground balls. 

In goal, Emily Dymnski picked up the win with 10 saves. Katie Mulvey made six stops for the Macs. 

Marywood defeated Immaculata for the seventh consecutive time. The Pacers have just one loss in 14 meetings to the Mighty Macs. 

After five minutes of scoreless play, Maddy Langlotz and McCabe scored twice in a 30-second spane to get the Pacers on board. Following Ashley Hankin's goal for the Macs, McCabe and Peters found the net twice within a minute to take a 4-1 advantage at the 21:36 mark of the first. 

Immaculata climbed back to make it a 5-3 contest at the midway point of the first period. Marywood went on a four-goal run in less than three minutes to stretch its lead to 9-3 on an unassisted McCabe netter. 

Marywood outshot Immaculata by a 32-23 margin. The Mighty Macs benefited from a 25-14 advantage on ground balls. Marywood won 24 of 28 (85.7 percent) draw controls. 

The Pacers will welcome Wesley College on Saturday. Marywood will celebrate Senior Day.
