Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Nipped by Keystone

Scranton, Pa. - Keystone scored the lone goal midway through the second half to nip Marywood University men's soccer 1-0 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon in Scranton. The loss drops the Pacers to 0-2 while the Giants improved to 3-1-1.

Marywood nearly netted the equalizer as time expired, but Hunter Iverson's shot with just three seconds left hit off the near post and went out of bounds as the clock hit zero.

After a back-and-forth afair throughout, Keystone broke a scoreless deadlock in the 73rd minute when Franck Rutabara finished a slotted cross from Erik Duran.

The Pacers thought they had the equalizer in the 80th minute when Troy Humphries tapped home a saved shot, but Humphries was determined offsides on the original shot, nullifying the goal.

Keystone held a 13-7 advantage in shots, including 7-3 in shots on goal. Marywood keeper Alex Russo made six stops, including several from point blank range, to keep the Pacers within range the entire game.

Marywood travels to Newark, New Jersey Wednesday to take on Rutgers-Newark at 7:00 pm.
