Marywood Blanks Purdue in Inaugural Overwatch Match

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University earned a shutout victory over Purdue University (Sigma) Thursday in the first Overwatch match in program history. The Pacers esports team blanked the Boilermakers with a 3-0 win.

Marywood swept in a decisive victory on Ilios, King's Row and Dorado.

Flex support Tanner Fenstermacher enjoyed a key performance as Moira on the third map, capturing a 3-1 victory that was keystone to the Pacers' vicory.

On the first map, the Pacers blanked Purdue with a 100-0 first round win. Marywood posted a 100-61 victory on the second map.

The Boilermakers nearly capped the third point on King's Row; however, the Pacers came through with a 3-2 win. Purdue eked a first point on Dorado before ultimately succumbing to the Pacers' stout defense.

Marywood (1-0) will look to stay undefeated in League of Legends on Thursday, Sept. 30. when it takes on Eastern University at 10 p.m.
