Wilkes-Barre, Pa. - Marywood University volleyball dropped its first two matches of the season at the Wilkes University tri-match on Saturday. The Pacers fell in three sets to the host Colonels before falling to College of Mount Saint Vincent by a 3-0 score.
Marywood fell by close scores (25-23, 26-24, 25-20) to the Colonels. The Dolphins defeated the Pacers by scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-16.
In the opening match,
Rebecca Klemovitch led the Pacers with 11 kills and a .250 hitting percentage.
Sara Burgos had a double-double with 25 assists and 10 digs.
Donna Bostjancic recorded 18 digs.
Marywood finished the match with a .092 attack percentage to the Colonels' .150.
Wilkes was led by Hope Ousey's nine kills. Alexa Cassel had 17 assists and 10 digs.
The Colonels outblocked Marywood by a 9-2 margin.
In the loss to the Dolpins,
Mikayla Meek recorded eight kills. Burgos registered 20 assists, and Bostjancic tallied 11 digs.
Marywood (2-2) returns home on Wednesday to take on King's College.
