Women's Tennis Opens Season with 7-2 Loss to Misericordia

Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University opened the women's tennis season with a 7-2 loss to Misericordia University on Tuesday.

Gabriella Nowak earned a No. 3 singles victory over Misericordia's Hannah Bonk by scores of 6-1, 6-3.

The Pacers' only other victory came in an 8-4 triumph at No. 3 doubles. The duo of Karah Laboranti and Elsa Kovatch were victorious over Nicole Pangiochi and Lydia Barbour.

Marywood's Lyndsey Medric faced stiff competition in the No. 5 singles. She fell to Misericordia's Cassie Benderavich by scores of 7-6 (6), 7-2 (2).

Marywood welcomes Juniata College on Sunday at 1 p.m.
