Staten Island, N.Y. — The Marywood University indoor women's track and field team opened the 2022 calendar year with a pair of record book performances and personal records. The Pacers competed at the Wagner Invitational Friday held at the New York City's Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

There was just one other Division III institution (Johns Hopkins) at the meet.

In the 60 dash, Maryam Hamidi crossed the finish in 8.57 seconds to set the fourth-best finish at Marywood. Hamidi was 19th place and had a 18th place performance in the 200.

Marwood had six runners compete in the 3K. Katie Shea was the team's top finisher in 12th place with a run of 11:14.38. Milana Straub dropped seven seconds off of her PR with a time of 11:26.

Kristen Persico established a new shot put PR for the second time this season. Her 16th place throw of 9.67 meters increased her best by 3 inches (31-8.75). Persico also came in 15th place in the weight throw (33-4.5).
