Straub Named Track Athlete of the Year; Snee Earns Elite 20 Award

Marywood earns seven All-Atlantic East awards

Lancaster, Pa. — Marywood University senior Lany Straub was named the Atlantic East Conference Track Athlete of the Year, officials announced Monday. The Pacers earned seven All-Atlantic East awards. 
  Gabby Snee was named the Atlantic East Elite 20 award, given to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the championship site. Snee, a Early Childhood Education & Elementary Education/Special Education major with a 3.948 GPA, ran to a third place performance in the steeplechase. She clocked in at 13:38.26.

Rosalyn Page was named First Team All-Atlantic East in the shot put and discus throw. Leah Zambetti was First Team in the javelin. Abby Megotz claimed Second Team All-Atlantic East in the 400 dash. 

Straub earned her second consecutive Atlantic East Track Athlete of the Year honor. 

Straub had three First Team All-Atlantic East awards with first place runs in the 5K, 10K and steeplechase. She won the 5K in 19:07.31 and the 10K in 42:27.71. Straub clocked in at 12:52.57 for first place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She came in fourth in the 1,500 and fifth in the 800.

The Shickshinny, Pa. native completes her career with two Athlete of the Year honors, 10 First Team All-Atlantic East recognitions, and two Second Team All-Conference awards.

Straub holds the Atlantic East championships record for steeplechase. She holds the conference records for steeplechase, 5K and 10K. 

Page was the conference champion in the shot put (39-3.25, 11.97m) and discus throw (130-10, 39.88m). She completes her career with four All-Atlantic East awards. 

Zambetti took first in the javelin with a throw of 113 feet, 9 inches. She won her second career conference championship. 

Megotz set a PR to get second place in the 400 dash in 1:00.41. She earns her first All-AEC award. Megotz took a half-second off her previous best in the race. 

Marywood finished conference runner-ups.

Pratt's Kaeden Green was selected the Field Athlete of the Year. She earned the lone gold medal for the Cannoneers on the weekend in the triple jump with a mark of 10.99 meters and added silver medal honors in the long jump with a leap of 5.15 meters. Green was part of the silver-medal winning 4x100 quartet comprised of Kate Nolan, Green, Kayla Galvan and Siena Sujitno, that clocked in a 52.53.

Dukuly made a splash in her AEC Championships debut with a first-place finish in the 100-Meter (12.82) and a second-place finish in the 200-Meter (26.68).

Snee, a Early Childhood Education & Elementary Education/Special Education major with a 3.948 GPA, ran to a third place performance in the steeplechase. She clocked in at 13:38.26.

Finally, Marymount won its third-straight Atlantic East title. The Saints won the Coaching Staff of the Year.
