Kollar-Dye's Second Half Tally Lifts Women's Soccer Over Marymount

Pacers collect 7th straight win

Scranton, Pa. - Senior forward Kate Kollar-Dye netted her second game-winning goal of the season - putting home a Riley Mulherin cross in the 66th minute - as Marywood women's soccer edged Marymount University (Va.) 1-0 Saturday afternoon.

The Pacers out-shot the Saints 26-8 (16-3 on goal) and earned their seventh straight win.

Marywood (8-5-1, 4-0 Atlantic East) controlled the first half - outshooting Marymount 17-2 (12-1 on goal). But Saints' netminder Hannah Mockenhaupt collected 12 saves to keep the Pacers off the board. Marymount (4-7-4, 1-2-1 AEC) had a dangerous look early in the second half, but Rebekah Becker made one of her three saves and pushed the ball wide for a Marymount corner kick - their only of the game.

In the 66th minute, Mulherin collected a give-and-go from Kollar-Dye, drove down the left flank and slotted to a streaking Kollar-Dye, whose one-time shot careened off the far post and back in front of an empty net. Kollar-Dye finished her own shot into an empty net for the game-winner.

Marywood then held off several dangerous Marymount attacks in the late stages to secure their fourth conference - and seventh consecutive - win.

Marywood hosts Immaculata Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 pm.
