Pacers Open Season with Split against Monarchs

Samantha Peck leads Pacers with two victories

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. — Marywood University opened its 2022-23 swimming and diving season with a dual meet split at King's College on Saturday. The Pacers earned head coach Shana Keeler her first career victory.
 
On the women's side, Marywood earned a 93-66 victory over the Monarchs. King's defeated the Pacers' men's squad 115-36.
 
Samantha Peck earned a pair of first-place finishes. Peck out-touched King's Jamie Navarro by 29-hundredths of a second with a 1:18.47 finish. She won the 100 butterfly in 1:06.33.
 
Molly O'Neill was first place in the 1,000 free in a time of 12:45.21.
 
Sabrina Zieger took the win in the 200 free with a resounding victory of 2:13.41.
 
On the men's side, Dylan Hervieux came up with a win in the 100 back. He touched the wall in 1:00.94.
 
Marywood will return to action on Oct. 22 when it hosts University of Scranton.
