Swimming Splits with Wilkes, Stevenson

Men's Swimming earns first victory of the season vs. Colonels

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. — Marywood University split a tri-match with wins over host Wilkes University and losses to Stevenson University Saturday in non-conference swimming action. 

Marywood edged the Colonels 71-63 in the men and dominated to a 105-13 victory on the women's side. The Pacers fell to the Mustangs 135-43 on the men's side and 123-70 in the women's race. 

The Pacers won the women's 200 medley relay by 17-hundredths of a second. The relay of Maggie Davis, Aubrey Mangan, Samantha Peck and Sabrina Zieger touched the wall in 2:08.99. 

Mackenzie Blithe finished just ahead of teammate Molly O'Neill in the 1,000 free. Blithe raced to a 12:55.16 finish ahead of O'Neill's 13:02.66. Blithe also came in second place in the 500 free in 6:24.17.

Sabrina Zieger had a pair of first-place finishes. She was the top finisher in the 200 free in 2:10.63. Zieger was first in the 200 back in 2:24.67. 

Jason Lee came in first place in the men's 50 free in 24.8 seconds. Lee finished 16-hundredths of a second ahead of Wilkes' Ashton Dainty. 

In the 200 fly, Dylan Hervieux earned second in the 200 fly in 2:18.76. Nathan Grosvenor was runner-up in the 100 free in 55.02 seconds and 500 free in 5:43.56.

Aubrey Mangan placed second in the 100 free in 1:05.26. Samantha Peck was second in the 200 breast in 2:52.03.

Marywood opens Atlantic East play on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Marymount University.
