Pacers' Attack on All Cylinders in 3-0 Victory over Immac

Marywood commits just six errors for a .378 attack percentage

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University began its Atlantic East Conference volleyball campaign Wednesday with a 3-0 win over Immaculata University. The Pacers earned their seventh consecutive victory in the series history versus the Mighty Macs. 

Marywood won by scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-14. 

The Pacers committed just six attack errors in the contest. Marywood finished with a .378 attack percentage. 

Casey Hagerstrom led Marywood with 14.5 points. She had 10 kills on 14 attempts for a .643 hitting mark. It stands as the second-best hitting performance in program history. Hagerstrom added four blocks. 

Shannon Corr finished with eight kills and 12 digs. She added three aces. 

Mikayla Meek contributed 15 assists, eight digs and three aces. 

Defensively, Donna Bostjancic had 10 digs. Sydney Steiner tallied 14 assists. 

In the first set, Marywood led 7-5 until a six-point run on Corr serves extended its lead. The Macs cut it to 19-16, and Meek's two aces led a five-point run to force set point.

Marywood jumped to a 16-6 run in the second set on a seven-point run on a Corr service game. 

The Pacers trailed for the only time in the match when Immaculata took a 7-6 lead in the third set. Corr evened the score to start a seven-point swing. Karli Boyer had a go-ahead point. 

Immaculata (5-7, 0-2 Atlantic East) was led by Emily Ettien with 15 assists. 

Marywood will travel across town to face University of Scranton on Friday at 5 p.m. in the Long Center.
