Pacers Swimming Sweeps Mighty Macs

Meet moved to University of Scranton

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University earned its first Atlantic East Conference women's and men's swimming victories on Sunday. The Pacers defeated Immaculata University 105-62 on the women's side and 76-48 on the men's side.

The meet was moved to the University of Scranton after mechanical issues at the Aquatics Center. The Pacers celebrated Maggie Davis, Jason Lee, Mackenzie Blithe and Elise Shore in their Senior Day ceremony on Saturday.

Marywood won every individual women's event.

Maggie Davis won a pair of individual events on Senior Day. She won the 100 butterfly in 1:07.77 and the 100 backstroke in 1:14.78.

Samantha Peck had a meet-best three victories. She was the top swimmer in the 200 free in 2:12.37. She won out on a four-woman field in the 500 free with a time of 5:51.08. Peck also took the 100 breast in 1:18.93.

Sabrina Zieger came in first in both sprints. She won the 50 free in 27.06 seconds and the 100 free in 59.4 seconds.

On her Senior Day, Mackenzie Blithe was first in the 1,000 free. She out-touched teammate Molly O'Neill by less than 1.5 seconds to win in 12:47.38. O'Neill won the 400 IM in 5:37.84.

The 400 free relay of O'Neill, Aubrey Mangan, Blithe and Davis beat out the Macs in 4:16.58.

The men earned the victory behind three wins from Dylan Hervieux. He captured first in the 50 free (24.05), 100 free (52.04), and 500 free (5:26.32).

Nathan Grosvenor was also a triple-winner with wins in the 200 free (2:02.53), 100 back (1:14.89) and 100 butterfly (1:02.67). Jason Lee won the 100 breast (1:12.14) and 1000 free (12:59-flat).

Marywood will compete next weekend in Wilkes-Barre's Wyoming Valley CYC for the Diamond City Invitational.
