Pacers' Comeback Unravels in Final Seconds

Seitz scores 28 points on eight 3-pointers

Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University came back from a 16-point deficit in the last five minutes to even the score before inevitably falling to Wilkes University 84-81 on Tuesday in non-conference men's basketball. 

Wilkes' Cayden Merrifield hit a 3-pointer with 45 seconds to retake the lead. After the teams traded sets of free throws, Marywood's last-chance 3-pointer to send the game into overtime was blocked. 

With 2.7 seconds left, Marywood successfully threw the ball down court to Jason Holman at the top of the key. Holman dished the ball to Seitz for a potential 3-pointer. His attempt was blocked by Trent Fisher to secure the victory. 

Seitz finished with 28 points to lead the Pacers. He made eight of 15 attempts from beyond the arc. 

Holman added 15 points, and Mason Mendygral added 10 points. Caleb Vigil had a team-high six points. 

Wilkes was led by Fisher's 21-point effort. Drake Marshall supplied 17 points. Joey Zvorsky tallied a 15 points and 10 rebounds. 

Marywood will take on Moravian University on Sunday.
