At the Buzzer! Seitz Sinks Giants in Overtime

Caleb Vigil dishes 10 assists to add to 24-point performance

La Plume, Pa. — Trevor Seitz hit a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Marywood University a 93-92 overtime victory over Keystone College on Tuesday night. Trailing by two points, Seitz sank a long-distance shot as time expired for the victory. 

Through seven games, it marked the Pacers' third game-tying or -winning 3-pointer at the end of a regulation or overtime period. 

After Keystone went ahead on a pair of Jack Anderson free throws with five seconds left, Caleb Vigil delivered a pass to Seitz in the corner. With just four points on a 1-for-13 shooting performance leading up to the shot, Seitz sent the Pacers' bench into a fury with his game-winning shot. 

Jason Holman led the Pacers with 26 points. Holman was 11 of 21 from the field, and he was just one rebound shy of a double-double. 

Vigil's game-winning assist tied him for the fourth-most single-game assists in a Marywood uniform. Vigil finished with 10 assists and 24 points. 

Brendan Franko also had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. 

Corey Perkins provided six assists, and Cole Johnson returned to the lineup with nine points. 

Keystone's Anderson tied a school record with 49 points. He made 19 field goals on 24 shots, and he made eight 3-pointers. Daivel Jackson had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds 

Marywood (4-3) won despite the Giants holding a significant advantage (54.5-to-42 percent) from the field. Marywood edged the Giants 41-39 in rebounds. Marywood had a 16-9 advantage in points in the paint. 

The Giants (0-4) led for most of the first half. Marywood ended the half on an 11-point run to take a 47-41 lead at the break. Vigil put the Pacers ahead 43-31 with a 3-pointer and followed with layups on the next two possessions for seven unanswered points. 

In the second half, Marywood and Keystone traded barbs. The Giants took an 81-80 lead with 1:42 remaining on a Jackson layup. Shane Rosencrans made a 3-pointer to give Keystone an 84-80 advantage wth 88 seconds on the clock. After Seitz made a free throw, Franko cashed in on a 3-pointer with 23 seconds left to even the score at 84-84. Perkins stole the ball at the other end of the court, and Holman's would-be game-winning shot was blocked and rebounded by Jackson. 

Marywood looks for its third straight win on Friday when it hosts Manhattanville College at the Insalaco Arena.
