Men's Basketball Downs Knights to Even Record

Mendygral leads scorers with 17 points

Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University topped Mount Saint Mary College 83-63 to even its men's basketball record on Friday night. The Pacers close out the 2022 calendar year with a 6-6 record heading into conference play. 

Mason Mendygral finished with a team-high 17 points. Mendygral was 5 for 10 beyond the arc. 

Brendan Franko finished with 16 points. Trevor Seitz scored 13 points, and Cole Johnson contributed 12 points and seven rebounds. 

Corey Perkins helped his team's cause with eight assists. Caleb Vigil had five assists. Marywood had assists on 26 of its 30 field goals. 

Marywood (6-6) triumphed over Mount Saint Mary despite just narrowly outshooting them by a 45.5-to-43.4 percent margin. The Pacers were 15 of 41 (36.6 percent) from 3-point range. 

The Pacers' bench outscored the Knights 32-10. Marywood had a 39-31 advantage in rebounds, leading to a 17-8 margin in its favor for second-chance points. 

Ryan Graham led all scorers with 18 points for the Knights (4-8). Connor Cyran had 16 points, and Chris Yearwood scored 11.
