Pacers Cap the Year with a Win over Lebanon Valley

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University ended the 2022 calendar year with a 58-52 win over Lebanon Valley College Friday in women's basketball. With 10 victories this season, Jennifer Carleton surpassed her most wins at the helm at Marywood.

Trailing 24-20 midway through the second quarter, Marywood took its final lead of the game when Savannah Purdy scored on a put-back layup. 

Lebanon Valley went on a six-point run to close the gap to one (53-52) with 1:30 remaining in regulation. Ciullo made a pull-up jumper at the top of the key at 1:07. Purdy collected an offensive rebound and made a free-throw to stretch it to a two-possession game. Jade Rolon made her third block of the game to seal the victory.
 
Teammate Olivia Ciullo led the team with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Purdy added 14 points and seven rebounds, while Rachel McDonald added 12 points. 

Off the bench, Maddie Neiderer added seven points, and Faith Kendricks added five. 

Marywood has a program-best 10 wins through 12 games.

The Pacers will open the Atlantic East Conference season against Centenary University on Jan 4 at the Insalaco Arena for a 6 pm matchup.
